No veterinary practice is complete without a veterinary technician to assist the doctor with professional animal healthcare. Specially trained and holding extensive knowledge, the veterinary technician is responsible for both normal and abnormal life processes, medical and surgical nursing, delivering anesthesia, diagnostic imaging, and other important clinical laboratory procedures.
As a student in Lincoln Memorial University's Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Medical Technology (BS-VMT) program, you will be trained to build a career as a veterinary technician or another animal healthcare role. We are one of only 28 colleges or universities nationwide offering a veterinary medical technology program that is fully accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities® (AVMA CVTEA®). That means our program meets the highest academic standards so you can be assured the education and training you are receiving are top-notch.
The program is also entirely online, so you'll be able to learn and study at your convenience while also tending to other responsibilities, like work and family. Plus, our class sizes are small—typically just about 10 students—meaning that you'll enjoy a level of personalized attention from our dedicated faculty that goes far beyond what you'll find in other programs, online or in-person.
